For over twenty years, Richard and Kristen McDonough were the owners/stewards of this immensely popular swimming hole just off Route 30 in Dorset. The country’s first commercial marble quarry, founded in 1785, slowly morphed into a swimming hole once mining operations ceased in 1915.
Ryan Downey acquired the site in 2020 and continues the legacy of the McDonough stewardship, which, on this beautiful July day, continues to enchant.
